India has been reporting more than 300,000 new infections a day in recent weeks, the highest of any country in the world. "Things got much closer to home this time," said Sailesh Menezes, Bengaluru-based head of HR at the India unit of Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE), a technology products company. As India grapples with a devastating second wave of COVID-19 infections that has overwhelmed its health care system, many companies are supporting their employees with essentials ranging from oxygen cylinders to home-cooked food.
